    My kick was the biggest problem for me. It actually took a long time to get the freestyle kick perfected, but even then I was slow. After months of training hard,basically just putting a snorkel on and kicking freestyle with a kickboard I slashed my time in 25 meters by 18 seconds. Cutting 15 pounds probably helped cut seconds too.😅

    I cannot swim more than 100m non stop without stopping to catch my breath. My struggles for swimming freestyle: 1. I breathe only to my left side. After a few laps, my neck will get pain. I rotate my body about 45 degrees but still having this issue. 2. Whenever I do early vertical forearm catch, my whole body especially the arms will get fatigue after 700m swim. What are the causes of these to happen ? and what are the solutions? Tq

    • @siskatrainingsystems9542
      @siskatrainingsystems9542 4 дня назад

      Thanks for the questions, breathing to one side is good as long as you equally rotate to the other side after the breath , everyone has one stronger side and tend to breathe more to one over the other ...increasing your shoulder flexibility will alleviate that neck pain as well as help you grab more water . To decrease your forearm fatigue, focus on staying loose on top of the water and strong underneath 💪 ...

    I wouldn't say exhausted but I feel dizzy after a 100 m. Like I'm not fatigued, just feels like I need to lay my head down on a pillow for a few seconds. Kinda like you feel after hyperventilating. Am I breathing wrong? Or not eating enough before swimming?

    Haven't seen anything from you in a while. For fins, I will never use traditional frog feet again. Mostly this is because our feet are 3 dimensional, and not flat like frog feet. Optimal foot position is toed in slightly, maybe not more than 30 to 45 degrees max. This gives us another 10 to 20 degrees of toe point, and allows us to use the side of our feet for propulsion. I have been using the Positive Drive fins from Finis, where there is very little fin on the big toe side, and a lot more fin on the little toe side. this pushes your toes and feet into the proper position. I do love the catch up drill, and prefer it with fins so I can move at more normal speed, but swim with the arms and body rotation in slow motion so I can concentrate on linking arm pull to body rotation. Oh, I use a snorkel as well. The under arm recover and extension is what I do with my low side arm when swimming my over arm side stroke. One length on one side, the next on the other side.

    I am fairly good with the drills and techniques but I still get out of breath after 2 lengths, very frustrating. Heart rate is way up at 180bpm as well, maybe I am swimming too fast lol

    Thank you Lukas. You answered the question (no.1) on the issue of breathing through the nose or mouth. I was wondering about it for long.
